Tawam joins a UAE partnership on memory and brain health
Tawam Molecular Imaging Centre in Al Ain Region signed with Mubadala Health Dubai and Re:Cognition Health on 21 October. Imaging at Tawam will support diagnosis. The first phase has opened in Dubai and no date has been announced for Al Ain.

Tawam Molecular Imaging Centre in Al Ain Region has joined a partnership to expand specialist memory and brain health services in the UAE. The agreement was signed at the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit and announced by the Abu Dhabi Media Office on 21 October.
What was signed
Mubadala Health Dubai and Tawam Molecular Imaging Centre, both part of M42, partnered with Re:Cognition Health, a British provider the announcement credits with more than fifteen years in memory, cognitive, neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental conditions.
The stated aim is a coordinated route from assessment through diagnosis, treatment and follow-up. The initial focus is memory concerns, cognitive impairment, Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative conditions. Neurodevelopmental services, including support for ADHD and autism, are to be added in phases, starting with telemedicine consultations.
For Alzheimer's and related conditions the announcement says treatment may include disease-modifying therapies, subject to clinical assessment, regulatory requirements and eligibility criteria. That is a conditional sentence and we are reproducing it as one.
What Tawam brings
Imaging. Dr Laila Abdelwareth, chief executive of Tawam Molecular Imaging Centre, is quoted saying its imaging will support diagnosis for patients in Al Ain and the wider Abu Dhabi region. Clinicians across the partnership can draw on magnetic resonance imaging, molecular imaging and specialist laboratory analysis.
That is a meaningful role. Accurate diagnosis in these conditions depends heavily on imaging, and the centre's equipment is why it is in the agreement.
The rollout
The announcement sets out a phased launch. The first phase has opened at Mubadala Health Dubai, with services at Tawam to follow. No date has been announced for the Al Ain phase, and none for the neurodevelopmental services beyond their starting with telemedicine.
If you are watching this for a family member in Al Ain, the practical position today is that the service has not opened here yet. We will report the date when it is published.
What we could not establish
When services begin at Tawam. The announcement does not say and we found no other source that does.
What the partnership is worth, or how long it runs. No figures were published beyond Re:Cognition Health's fifteen years of experience.
Who signed on behalf of each party. The announcement quotes three chief executives but does not name signatories.
How to check this yourself
The announcement is on the Abu Dhabi Media Office site, dated 21 October 2026, under Health. The Emirates News Agency carried a version datelined the following day. Both describe the agreement as signed at the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit.
